After suffering from GI problems since June, and with no answers after undergoing numerous ultrasounds, x-rays, blood tests and CT scans and visits to three doctors, I'm now attempting to solve my GI issues on my own. And, NO, I'm not pregnant (not yet anyway!).
My symptoms come and go depending on the day, and they aren't necessarily triggered by food because I can eat something one day and be fine but I eat it the next and my stomach swells to three times its normal size.
Thus, my first attempt in rectifying the issue is to try the Flat Belly Diet
in hopes that the special eating plan will solve any food allergies/issues I may have developed.
I purchased all the items for the 4-day jumpstart yesterday and tomorrow is Day 1 of the 32 day plan.
The first four days will be difficult for me because I have to eat a whole pint of cherry tomatoes 2 of the 4 days and I'm not a big fan of tomatoes unless they're on a sandwich or in a sauce. But, I'm using this blog to keep myself accountable because I'm bound and determined to get to the bottom of these stomach issues.
What does this have to do with a size 4?
That's the size I was when we got married in October 2007. Since then, my workout time has been drastically reduced (as in I'm lucky if I get in one day a week) and my clothes no longer fit like they should. I'm sure the lack of working out has also played a role in my GI issues and I know that when I was a size 4 it was the best my body has felt ever. In order to accomplish this, I need to drop about 10 lbs and 1-2 pants sizes (depending on the brand).
Where do you come in?
I need all the encouragement I can get to continue on this journey. The Flat Belly Diet is the easy part because once I finish that I'm moving right in to faithfully completing the entire P90X program
.
I've started it twice now and never finished it, but it's time.
My goal at the end of this whole program is three-fold:
- Have a deeper relationship with God as he's the one I'm ultimately leaning on for strength and perseverance to see this through.
- My GI issues will be gone.
- I'll be a size 4 again and my pants will fit like they should.
If you care to join me in this journey, pick up the Flat Belly Diet book from here
or your local library and let's do this!

I had an upper and lower GI scope and ultrasound on my pancreas and gallbladder area one year ago. Let us know what happens tomorrow, and good luck.
