Week 3 Starts Tomorrow

Still plugging along here. I made Flat Belly Diet approved chocolate cake over the weekend as a subsitute for real birthday cake today. The cake was alright, but VERY dense compared to the normal moist chocolate cake recipe I use.

I also made some Nutty Fruit Muffins. Those were some of the best muffins we've ever had so I'll definitely have to post that recipe.

Tomorrow is another weigh-in and measurement morning so we'll see how we did this week. The pants are fitting better every day and I haven't really had any stomach pains this week so I definitely think this "diet" has been beneficial.

I have a written sketch of this week's menu plan, but haven't typed it up yet. A lot of our breakfasts this week are the muffins I mentioned above with one egg and 1.5 strips of reduced fat bacon. Lunches are granola bars, fruit, nuts and string cheese sticks just because I have extras of those to use up. Dinners are some repeats and some new stuff.

Tonight for dinner we had grilled flank steak and roasted potatoes with walnuts, scallions and blue cheese. It was very good. Only thing that would have made it better was a piece of real birthday cake for dessert. But, my hubby is taking me out on the 18th to NYC to eat at my favorite Mexican restaurant and then I think to a show (it's a surprise what we're doing after dinner) so I can persevere until then. Just have to make it through a Superbowl party this weekend.

  1. I FINALLY got the book in the mail ... I went grocery shopping today and totally forgot to make a menu plan out of the book, so it looks like I'll be waiting until next week to start.

Good luck avoiding the Superbowl munchies ... I could seriously live on bar food.
