Finished Strong (almost)

I know I've been absent here for over a week - two snow days and complete stress at work will do that to someone - but, I'm proud to say that overall, my Flat Belly Diet experiment was a great success!

Yesterday was the last official day of our experiment, and hubby & I are so happy with how well we feel and our results that we're going to stay with the concept as much as possible. But, we're going to allow ourselves to eat some of our favorite meals (can anyone say homemade enchiladas, lasagna or corn chowder?) at least once a week and even allow ourselves to eat out every now and then - no more than once a week if possible.

We finished strong yesterday, but we did not follow the FBD at all from Friday night through Sunday night. I had a crazy stressful day at work on Friday and was seriously craving a piece of pizza. Hubby & I gave in and bought 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of white and split them both equally. We still ate a lot less (1 slice each) than we would have pre FBD (2-3 slices each) and felt satisfied. Saturday morning we had a breakfast for the volunteers from our church where we tried to pick the most FBD friendly food possible. After that it was non-stop political events until well after 4pm where we made our last stop at a celebration of African American History and enjoyed delicious jerk chicken, rice & beans, pasta and plantains. Sunday wasn't much better because we left to help with church at 6:30am and didn't get done there until 12pm. We grabbed a quick bite at Taco Bell on the way home and then took a nap before heading off to a fundraiser for Valentine's Dinner -  not much you can control over the food at a banquet.

All that to say, when I weighed myself Saturday morning I was down another pound to 145, but when I did my official last weigh in this morning I was back up to 146. I'm contributing a lot of it to bloat from eating foods my stomach wasn't used to the past few days. I'll post my measurements in a separate post.

Now on to the next phase: training with the "she-devil". T-minus 7 hours until that starts!
