Flat Belly Diet Q&A

I've received a few questions about the Flat Belly Diet so I thought I'd take a moment to address them here.

Q: Do you feel hungry only eating 1600 calories a day?
A: I admit, the first 4-7 days of the program I was hungry and counting down the minutes hours until the next meal. Drinking the lemon water helped ward off the hunger pains. The last three weeks of the program, though, I usually felt comfortably full after a meal and only started to get hungry about 3.5 hours later.

Q: Does the food taste good?
A: Once you get past the 4-day jump start, the food is really tasty. Most the time my father-in-law kept asking us if we were cheating because he didn't believe the food we were eating was on our diet. We had delicious meals such as Chocolate Cherry Waffles, Nachos, Reubens, Flank Steak & Roasted Potatoes with Blue Cheese, Chicken Nuggets, Pineapple-Carrot-Raisin Muffins, Macadamia Nut Blondies, Brownies with Ice Cream, etc. So, YES, the food on this "diet" is good. So good you don't really feel like you're on a diet. Plus, between the regular FBD book, the cookbook and the FBD book for men (which I picked up to make sure I was giving hubby the proper number of meals/calories a day), there are tons of delicious recipes. Due to lack of time, I normally recycled many of them, but there are so many I can't wait to try because they sound downright tasty.

Q: Does the diet actually work?
A: Whoever asked me this must not have seen the measurements I've posted, but yes, this "diet" works. My hubby (who was trim to begin with) lost at least 10 lbs and I lost 4 lbs and 8 inches. In 32 days! We never really felt like we were on a diet. Sure we couldn't eat just whatever we wanted, but the food we were eating was delicious and satisfying. In fact, we're so happy with it that it's become our new way of eating for the most part. Sure, we'll have a "cheat" day or meal here and there, but the results are satisfying enough to stick with it.

Q: What is a MUFA?
A: MUFA stands for MonoUnsaturated Fatty Acid. There are 5 categories of MUFAs: oils, nuts and seeds, olives, avocados and dark chocolate. These are proven to be heart healthy and fight against chronic disease. Eating a MUFA with every meal is what helps keep you from feeling hungry until the next meal and also what makes the food on this "diet" so delicious.

Hope that answers your questions. If you have any more, post them in the comments or send me an e-mail at brieblogs (at) optonline (dot) net and I'll address them in a future post.
